I love Good Fats

I have a confession to make and it's about FAT. Yes I love good and healthy fat, and the reason is plain simple. Healthy fats actually help me lose bad fats and help me with my energy level every single day. I know what some of you are thinking right now. HUH?.....

Well, yes...my tip for you today is to add fats to your daily diet. Yes, you read it right. Add fats to your daily diet. Who say fats is not good for you, just make sure you eat the right quality of fats and take in the right amount. Omega 3 -6 are the fats you want to consume, especially omega 3. Stay away from saturated, hydrogenated, and polysaturated fats. !

By the way, fat is our main energy storage. I you were left in the wild or in the ocean for survival, trust me, you'll need plenty of them to make it out a live, so don't count them out of your diet. What you need to make sure you exclude and stay away from are the deadly fats. If you consume them too much, now you're in trouble for serious health consequences later on in life.

Can You Really Stay Fit and Lose The Bad Pounds? Yes..and Yes..!

Can you really stay fit and lose the bad pounds? Yes...and Yes! As you already know, if you are new to this blog then you'll know that I'm always doing research with my team to keep you update about general health and fitness and what you can do to help you change your lifestyle.

Today I'm going to share a video with you that I found. It's short and very interesting, and it emphasizes on exercise, diet, and weight loss. Before I share this video with you, let me ask you 5 simple questions and I want you to think about these questions and really lament on them a little and be honest with yourself:

1) Why do you want to wait till you become unfit to seek advice and start exercising and change your eating habits?

2) Why do you keep making excuses about not having enough time and money to exercise and eat well, when you have plenty of time to consume bad foods, alcohol and buy stuff you don't want?

3) Why do you have to wait till you become ill, obese, diabetic, hypertensive, cancerous, to start taking care of your health and body?

4) Why do you have to wait till your physician tell you that you only have a few months to live or diagnose you with a bad illness before you take action?

5) Why do you put yourself under so much stress all the time and refuse to commit at least a decent time to sleep.

Well, there's always time to start taking care of your health and your body. And it's not okay to wait till the end and when something bad start deteriorating your health and your body to start taking action. The best way to confront any of these problems mentioned above is to be honest with yourself, start early, take action, so you don't have to pay any consequences later in life.

Interestingly enough, some of us think we are invincible at times when it comes to being fit and healthy, and refuse to seek the right answers by telling ourselves, we're too busy, we don't have time. Well, today I'm here to tell you that there's plenty of time and the excuses you keep using won't benefit you at all in the long run. The point is, some of us just don't value the power of fitness and wellness, and don't realize without being healthy and fit, there's a lot of things we just can't do. It's not a joke my friend. Just think about it!

Here's the video below I wanted to share with you? It's from CNN Fit Nation. Take a look at it, it's very short, and really listen to what Dr. Kal went through to lose 130 lbs. How he did it? How that has change his life and because of this change how is he impacting so many lives teaching people about the power of fitness and health.

Healthy Alternative Tofu Stir Fry

I know some of you have been waiting for that alternative recipe I talked about a few months ago. As you know, I'm always trying new recipe out because I have to remain consistent with my workout regimen to stay in top shape and keep my abs blasting. Therefore, different nutritious meals and a variety of workout regimen help me with that.

What about you? What have you been doing lately? Have you changed the pace a little so you don't keep reaching plateau with your fitness regimem and your nutrition regimen. If your body is not changing as you want it to, perhaps you should take a deeper look into what you are doing and try to add variety and do it a little different.

Remember...a small change can drastically impact your body and your mind in ways you never thought were possible. Alright, below you can see the video of that Tofu Stir Fry I made, and the recipe is right below it.

1) Take a pan and cut the tofu (Firm Nasoya garlic with onion) into small pieces and add it in the pan
2) Cut a medium green paper and a medium red onion into small pieces and add in in the pan
3) Add 3 spoon apple cider vinegar
4) Add 3 spoon of olive oil
5) Add 1 cup of parsley leaves and basil leaves
6) Add 1 spoon of coconut oil (if you don't have any, don't worry about this step then)
7) Add a few sprinkle of sea salt and cayenne pepper
8) Marinate it for about 5 mnns
9) Cook for 5 mns
10) Serve slightly warm with 1/2 glass of white wine

That's it..! It only takes 10 minutes or less to make this stir fry. By the way I added some brown rice in there as well. That takes a little longer. So if you want to cook brown rice it will take a lot longer to prepare. Next time I'll give you some tip on how to make your brown rice come out deliciously like a top chef. Also keep in mind to do your exercise routines either at the health club, the gym or the park to complement with this nice meal.

Yes, I had to say it because nutrition and exercise are really like twin or married couple if you want to think of it that way. They go hand in hand. You just can do only one and not worry about the other one, otherwise your results (how you want your body to look) will always be limited.

Enjoy the recipe and let me know how you liked it.

Drink Water and More Water

I have something to tell you today, so this post is going to be fairly short. I've always drink lots of water, but I never really understood if I over drink more of it, if I will ever feel this way.

Lately, I've been adding 2 more glasses of water in addition to what I drink everyday. Also, I've been drinking a glass 1/2 before everything I eat. Hey..! It's my little experiment, so now I get to tell you the results.

Surprisingly, my face start clearing up a lot more and I feel a less heavier overall. Another thing that I notice is once I wake up, I am totally awake with complete focus. Well, today I have only 2 tips for you about water. Here they are:

Tip #1
Drink plenty of water. Our body needs a lot of water so give in to water. Water is not just a way to flush out toxin in the body, but if you have more water in your cells and outside of your cells, you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This itself will discourage any tendency to gorge. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.

Tip#2

Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up in the morning, gulp down a glass of cool or room temperature water. It’s a wonderful way to start your day, to boost your metabolism, and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast drink after that. A glass of water lets out all your bad digestive juices and sort of lubricates the inside of your body. You may have your morning cup of tea but have it after a glass of water. It is good for you.

That's it for today. Please leave your comments below.

"You Can Comeback From Any Health and Fitness Deficit And Win..!

I have to tell you, I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I usually watch some games during the post season. Last night I watched the greatest post season baseball game in my life, and you know what it did, "motivate me" even more to stay healthier and go after my goals in life. So let me share this quick post with you.

That's right! If you think you've been beaten, lost faith and don't believe, most likely you will never win. It is the main reason why so many of us can't get that great body we want, lose those bad fats, and stay healthy. Why? because we listen so much to the "opinions" of others, rather than what's inside of you and doing what's right, "keep on persevering"

Yes! that voice that usually tell you "you can do this, just keep on believing" What happens last night really sent chill down my spine. It examplifies: courage, tenacity, perseverance, patience, and most importantly belief and faith.

You see, you too can overcome any situation you are currently facing with your health, whether it is an acute injury, chronic disorder, bad weight management, bad eating habits, lack of confidence. You just need to believe in yourself and have faith, know why you're doing it, and when obstacles seem to have their way with you, keep on fighting and believing, because if you never quit like "The Red Sox" did in that 5th game of this ALCS, you will also become victorious and get that body you want, and remain in the health status you want.

Sooo..it's nine lives= 9 inning = faith = in it to win. What about you? Are you going to give up after you only lose 5 lbs, gain 5lbs and the going get tough, or are you going all the way to your nine inning? The ball is in your hand, you make the decision.

Fight Demonic Stress Out Of Your Life

Lately many people have been under negative stress and so much pressure that they even forget to take a deep breath and ask "Woooo!, wait a sec what is really going here" Do I keep stressing myself over this "recession this" "recession that" or do I keep on going with my life?

Let me share something with you that most of you already know but may need to hear again "The past is gone, and it can't ever become the present, so whatever happened last week or yesterday is already gone. Yes! maybe it is stored in the subconscious mind for later use, but for now, right at this moment you should focus on the present, especially today. What are your plans for today? and what are your goals to get to where you want to go today? rather than stressing so much about how you fail, how the recession is destroying you, or how you have no where to go, to invest, or exercise, etc.

It's only mental focus and mental strength my friend. Yes it is not easy for many of us, but if you concentrate on getting it, you will. And one of the best way to gain that is to eliminate bad stress, exercise regularly with a sound healthy eating strategy, and healthy supplementation.

You see, If you were to ask me the meaning of stress, I will tell you"Stress is a demon that is destroying one's life by invading the physical and mental state of the body"(Ibsen Alexandre). Stress will never be your friend for the most part, and if you do not find the best way to balance your life around it, cope with it, and get it out of your system, then it can potentially destroy you.

There are effective ways to combat this powerful demon. If you want to find out about why it happens? Why it refuses to go away? If you are seeking for the best techniques and secrets to combat this powerful enemy. First, you need to find out the cause of your stress and try everything possible to eliminate it. Second, you must start applying the power of breathing as that will always ease your mind and eliminate stress. Finally, you must focus on increasing your mental strength to eliminate stress out of your life.

Below are 12 related stress destroyers that you can avoid if you are mentally strong, exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet and take regular healthy supplementation.
  1. Increase risk of coronary heart disease
  2. Increase cholesterol level
  3. Increase blood pressure
  4. Increase anxiety
  5. Increase depression
  6. Decrease motivation
  7. Decrease function of immune system
  8. Decrease longevity
  9. Worsen weight management, and obesity
  10. Affect sleep pattern
  11. Promote cancer cells
  12. Causes premature death
Relax your mind with this powerful music from Elisas Darwer and release some demonic stress. Just remember to take a deep breath before you start listening.

You see, these are all the things negative stress can bring into your life, and trust me you don't want to deal with acute or chronic disorders because of stress. So what ever the economy may throw at you, just remember you need to remain mentally strong, focus, and most importantly exercise on a regular basis, eat well, and take healthy supplements so you can destroy these negative stresses.

Why Physical Activity is a Remedy For you?

Today I'm going to discuss with you briefly a little about the most important effects of exercise and why it is an important remedy in your life.

If you are inactive, your body is in a dormant stage. Your strength is low, your endurance is low, your cardiovascular system is weak, and your stress level is high and you probably lack mental focus. And the two most alarming things for you to know is that you put yourself in jeopardy for many health risks, and your immune system is weakening less and less. If you can think back of 5,000 years ago there was no such things as taking pills every single day.

Obesity wasn’t a major contribution to heart disease and other diseases known to mankind today. There wasn’t so many cancer, and disorders around. The inhabitants of the villages used to do things by hands, they use to walk, they use to lift, they used to push, and they used plants a lot in their daily lives.

Those people back then didn’t have any gyms, or fancy equipments, of some fitness facility. In fact, they didn’t even have the knowledge of what exercise and nutrition really was. They just knew they felt good and healthy when they ate certain foods from nature, when they climbed mountains tops, cultivated their farms, walked a few miles a day, ran after savage animals in the wild, and so forth.

There is saying that you have heard before that says, “ eat an apple a day and keep the doctor away”. Hey, my uncle is a medical doctor, so I am not against what doctors preach at all. All I am saying is you need to start engaging in some form of physical activity at least 3 times a week. And there are plenty of ways to get engage. Stay posted to find out how. Don't forget to comment on this post and let me know your thought.

Healthy Alternative To Starbucks Latte

Today is a day off for me. When I take a day off, I don't do anything at all, I just relax, read, and take nice long walk in the park. I missed my yoga too much today and didnt' feel like going out for a long walk, so you know what. I decided to do a few calisthenics right in my office, and had a nice healthy breakfast. Oh yeah! I had a nice soy protein latte. I'll give you the recipe in a couple of minutes, but first....

I'll have the videos of my quick 5-10 minutes short workouts for you to gain strength and destroy fat fast and stay fit sometimes in the next few weeks, so bare with me.

Alright, I know many of you reading this post just love your morning Starbucks latte, and I have nothing wrong against that. The only problem is that some of you who wants to lose weight and get fit, this might not be the right, all time choice, because just one small cup of a latte at your favorite local store can be a whooping 1200 calories. It depends where you buy it. Let a lone if you haven't had breakfast yet.

I know we make excuses about time, but truthfully if you can't spend only 2-5 minutes to make a quick latte that you're going to enjoy, there's no point of trying to be healthy and fit then. Anyhow, in any case you feel like you're sick and tired of buying lattes in the small store near your work or your house all the time, and want a quick healthier alternative here's one for you. It's the soy protein latte. Be advised: If soy is not your forte and if you're allergic to it, by no means please keep buying your other lattes.

Here's the recipe:
In a medium mug or large one
1 scoop of unflavored isolated soy protein powder ( I bought mine at whole food)
2 dashes of cinnamon
2 teaspoons of cocoa powder
1/2 packet of Stevia (it's a sweet herb that can come in either in powder form or liquid form, it's an alternative form of sugar)
1 black tea teabag
Add hot water
Splash of rice milk or soy milk
Then hand mix it all with some kind of mixer at your house.

That's it....done. The time it takes to make this latte is only 5mns or less. Leave your comments to let me know if you liked it, the taste or the flavor, and how you felt afterward. I'd love to hear your comment. Good luck with it!

Don't Worry You Can Still Be Happy

I was in the train today in New York City, heading for a meeting downtown. Everywhere I pass by there was always some folks talking about "recession this, recession that". Listen! I think the media is just over hyping this thing. Yes, the economy is affecting businesses and individuals, but come on now, it's not the end of the world.

In fact, in this economic turmoil many people will use it as an advantage to advance in life, and become something greater. I hope you join this crowd instead. So I'll tell you to worry about things that you can control, and what's more important to us than anything else on this planet, HEALTH, not even money. Where am I going with all of this? Some people are starting to make excuses to stay out of shape and not taking control of their health by using the economy as the factor.

Okay! let me share two great facts with you and then I'll stop writing. Fact number one: Did you know that worry, anxiety, depression, and negative thoughts can alter your body and your genetic make up to the point your body become so acidic and can create tumors, that can eventually lead to cancer? If you never thought of this and don't know that, now you know, because scientifically it's been proven.

The body needs to be in a constant state of homeostasis, it needs to be in balance, and acid and alkaline plays a big role in that. Acid and Alkaline has to do the PH level of your body, you know, when you get sick, how your body feels, your cells degeneration and re-integration, etc...all of it has to do with your hormonal balance, homeostasis, and how acidic or alkalic your body is. So do yourself a favor, and don't worry so much, instead, take action about something you love, to keep you happy.

Fact number two: This is actually a good time to gather your thoughts and start changing your health habits and get your body in better shape. Heck! I know the more I focus on that the less I worry about all those negative comments I ear all the time about this current economy. There's always going to be money, it's not like all the money disappeared all of a sudden and went to hide somewhere in Mexico. So this is a good time for you to get involve at a health club, a gym, or do something at your house to keep you fit and healthy.

"A happy video for you"

Well, I'm done writing. I am thankful that I can still breathe and that I am healthy, that's what more important to me, and for the money part, it will always come. What about you? Are you thankful for the breath you still have? Are you happy with your health and fitness status? or Are you just worrying too much about the economy and depressing yourself? I hope you chose the best answer, the one that makes you feel good about yourself and happy.

By the way, don't forget to share your comments. I'd like to hear your take on this one.

Adversity Is A Key Component Of Greatness

"Adversity is another way to measure the greatness of individuals. I never had a crisis that didn't make me stronger."
- Lou Holtz

You are not weak, no one is weak. We just believe at times that we are weak and just accept it for some unknown reason. When you realize that every adversity that you combat and won the battle, you bet you are strong mentally. What about physically, have you used the capacity of your mental prowess to change your lifestyle and your body yet?

You know, it's easy to make excuses about cutting down on fast food, loosing 15 pounds, or gaining 5 lbs of muscles. But it's always alright for a lot of us to say, yeah! let's go out this weekend, there's a nice barbecue at the park.
Or things like, yeah I'll eat this stuff for this week only, it won't kill me, or I'll just wait next month to start exercising and get into shape.

If you want to become strong mentally and physically and get in the best shape of your life, you must know that there will be crisis at time and you must know that you will face many obstacles. But the real questions remain, how bad do you really want it? and why are you doing it?
It's very simple, unless you can think clearly about these questions and answer them honestly, it will be very difficult to measure your greatness because you will not get where you want to go.

As I told you many time in previous posts, I'm all about helping you getting to that final destination, "healthier lifestyle and great shape". Don't be hesitant to reply to this post and other posts. I'd love to hear your comments.
