Number 1: Your Statement of Purpose: You must have a statement of purpose in order to accomplish your health and fitness goals, and stay committed. A statement of purpose is different than just setting a simple goal or New Year’s resolution. It's a systematic plan of why, when, where, what, and who, about what you want with a revise schedule. A quick example of this could be something like this:
“I want to weigh 30 pounds less by March 23rd 2010. I want to weigh 30 pounds because I will be able to fit in the dress I always wanted and I will be healthier and at less risk for chronic disease. I intend to lose this 30 pounds working out at home 3 times a week for 15 to 30 minutes, and changing my eating habits. I will keep a journal on my desk to monitor my changes, and my emotional moods. Number 2: Re-invent Yourself: It's a new year therefore you must become a new you. This simply means you must start thinking differently and act differently. It's alright to want to lose 50 pounds, however if you're not educating yourself and taking the necessary steps to lose the 50 pounds, it will not happen. If you don't start believing in yourself and have faith with certainty that it can be done, surely it will not get done. If you start and keep listening to folks telling you that you won’t lose the weight, you’ll never look like this, than it won’t happen either.
The truth is, a lot of you spend more than on junk foods, sitting on the couch in front of the TV for 3 hours, and entertainment each year, and the amount surpass what you could have spent on our health, body, and mind. For 2010, make it a habit to stay more discipline towards what you want, do the right thing and be patient enough, and before you know it, you will be smiling a lot more.
