Eat What's Right For You And Sleep Well

Alright! it's 3 am and I woke up in the middle of the night from a good dream, actually. I was flying in my dream and helping so many people in need. My grandparents used to tell me when ever you dream of flying, great things will happen the next day or in a few weeks.

Ironically, after I woke up I felt terrible and I was literally in starvation mode (not good) Ummm! I wonder what could have caused that? Perhaps, I went to bed too late or couldn't clear my mind. Maybe my adrenal glands were not satisfied enough and didn't want to help my melatonin hormone (sleep hormone).

I think I know what it is, usually a protein type individual needs higher protein and fat to balance their body and even sleep well through the night, because the last thing that can happen is to be in hypoglycemic stage (low blood sugar).

So in my case, I totally forgot to balance my meal last night. In fact, my carbohydrates intake was so high, I should have woke up in the middle up the night and start screaming for help. So what's the point I'm trying to convey to you here.

Here it is: You have to eat according to your own body type. So from now on after you eat pay attention to the food that you eat, the time you eat it, how does it make your body feel? your mind and so forth. You'll be surprised how quickly you can lose weight, balance your body hormones, and sleep a lot better if you're eating the right type of food for "YOU" and exercise regularly.

My favorite drink in the morning is WATER...What's yours?

I woke up exactly at 6am this morning, and right after my active stretches I drank 2 full glasses of water. It felt really good and my mind felt a lot clearer. I have experimented with coffee, tea, and water.

Based on my experiences I would say that water is the best drink to have in the morning. First it helps speed my metabolism because it's a zero calorie nutrient, therefore the body is going to spend more energy to process it, thus burn calories at the same time. As for coffee, when I tried it a few time, it only increased my insulin level, changed my mood, and by the time I had breakfast I felt like my body was collapsing. Plus it accumulates more fat tissues from the sugar content.

As for tea, I found it's better than coffee when I consume it in the morning, I don't get the mood swing, and I feel like my adrenal glands keeps everything in check. The only problem I have with drinking them in the morning is the after taste, other than that, it's fine. However, for some reason, I have made it a habit to drink water in the morning instead because physiologically it's better for the body and a lot healthier. Also, since the body is comprised of about 75% of water and we lose a lot of it through sweat, urine, perspiration, I found it's better to stick with drinking more of it for replenishing as well.

Well, I share this with you because someone sent me an e-mail asking what's the best drink I value the most in the morning and why? Hope this quick answer help you as well. I forgot to mentioned earlier, I alternate between tea and water once in a while. There's also a post about the importance of water in September and December archive if you want to check it out.

Don't Let Something Like This Happen..!

On Sunday 2/15/09, around 7pm, I decided to browse the channel for something educational on TV. Normally, that's what I browse for or sports. Any interesting stories that can catch my attention is great.

I ended up watching "The World's Heaviest Man". Some of you may have heard of him, and some of you probably don't have a clue. The first time I saw an episode on him, he was not as heavy as today. To make this very short and let you see the short video clip I have for you.

Just remember what I've told you in the past and I'll still continue to preach it to you. We were born to move, to eat healthy in connection with mother nature. Nowadays, some people hardly have time to eat breakfast, or they sit in front of a computer all day long just to accumulate more fats, and decrease their mobility, and increase the rate of mortality.

If you do not change your ways, which can be done with three simple words "believe" "change" and "action" you may end up looking at yourself in the mirror someday and say "Wait a minute, what have I done to myself". For some of us it could be too late. So start your health and fitness journey today, create some meaningful time in your life to devote to it.

Here's the quick video I told you about earlier.

Get out and exercise before it's too late folks. Watch what you eat daily before it's too late. Let me know what you thought about this post.

Get Out There And Sweat

It's a very beautiful day in New York City, and from what I have read in the newspaper, it seems like it's a beautiful day in many states. In fact, the rest of this week, the sun will shine more, the atmosphere will be clearer.

There's no reason not to go outside for a long walk, a quick jog, or a quick park 5 -10 minutes workout. It will be worth your time. There are a few quick work out that I posted a few weeks ago, you should definitely go try them in your backyard or your nearby park. Here's why you need to be more active and more optimistic:

1)Lately, I hear many comments about how the economy is elevating the stress level of many folks. The solution is simple, be more optimistic, have an action plan and engage in an activity that makes you feel good and happy. Just remember that "news that are geared to positive outcome don't sell and don't help with TV ranking"

2) Well, Ibsen I seem to eat a lot more and gain more weight, and I can't skip the chocolate during this hard times. That's okay! first of all this is not a hard time, it's only hard if you make and think it's hard. Surround yourself with individuals who have a different outlook on life, very positive and you'll be surprise if you are even in an economic depression.

Second, you can eat and devour on your favorite food and chocolate. There's nothing wrong with that, but you must also know there's a price to pay if you purchase the items you are eating at the wrong super market and if you're just eating too much and at the wrong times just because you feel depressed. Eat healthy food with variety of colors at the right time for your body type, and eat darker chocolate (organic), with higher percent of cacao and you'll be fine.

3) I just don't like the taste of breakfast in the morning and I hate going outside in the middle of the day. I'll tell you what, if you're not a breakfast lover you're making a huge mistake in your life. The body love to find ways to stay balance, if you're not eating breakfast and your core nutrition is not in check, you can rest assure that will hinder your weight loss and your muscle gain.

Lastly, vitamin D is essential for everyone, and you get a lot of it from the sun, especially if you are lactose intolerant, don't eat diary products, or not supplementing which you should. So yes!..you should go outside in the middle of the day when the sun is bright and shining and walk around for a while with a bottle of water in your hand. You'll be glad you did 5, 10 or 20 years from now.

So that's it folks. It's really that simple, you don't really have to own a bunch of gym equipments and focus so much on the negative media stream in order to be active and happy. So, go outside, enjoy the sun, bring your smile and laughter with you, do something you love, and enjoy yourself the day. Live for the present, alright..!

Chisel Up Your ABS For Upcoming Vacation

Before you know it Spring Season will be right around the corner. At that time many people will start looking to get great abs. Why not start early instead of waiting for vacation time. Some of it has to do with fear and the other aspect has to do with "Excuses"

Fear I can understand and have a little pity because you might be afraid of injuring your lumbar spine (low back), strain your hip ligaments, etc. But excuses, come on..! that's just unacceptable.
Until you can establish a strong belief in yourself that you can have great abs, most likely you won't ever get them.

Why? the minute that you know you truly want them, you'll find every way possible to combat stress, change your eating habits, bad sleep habits, stop mingling around with Mr. and Miss fast foods, lose some of the high calorie beers that you enjoy so much, then you'll be on your way.

Here's a quick abs exercise that I did a little while ago. You can do this at your own house or your office, it's up to you. Keep it simple..!

Here's the scenario: Your goal is to get to a 100 repetitions of each abs exercise sequence. If you look at the video closely enough. You'll see that it's a combination of 3 Abs exercise combine in one.

Again, keep it simple and at your level of core strength. You don't necessarily have to get a 100 repetitions in one set, just build you strength and stabilization up to it.

Let me know how it went and how the exercise [Complex Air Bike Chisel Ab Blaster] has helped you.
